North West Sprint/Liam Ball Triathlon Entries Open

The entries for this year's North West Sprint/Liam Ball Triathlon are now open. Hosted by the North West Triathlon Club it takes place on Sunday 30th May with the first wave off at 9am in Templemore Sports Complex.

It will consist of a 750m Swim/20km Bike/5km Run. The race is once again part of Triathlon Ireland's National Series League and the race is also the Ulster Sprint Championships. This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Liam Ball Triathlon and the club is hoping for an even bigger and better race than last year.

As this is the Ulster Championships, this race will attract a competitive field from throughout the province in an early season charge to be the best in Ulster. Last year's winner Brian Campbell is expected to make a return visit to Derry with runners up Ciaran O'Sullivan from Letterkenny along with Derry's own Colm Quigley also in the line up.

The women's race will see a competitive field lead by Letterkenny's Sinead Jennings who is set to defend her crown, together with Margaret Kelly also making the trip up the Derry road. The North West may also provide their own big contenter in Olympic hopeful Aileen Morrison.

Entry is now open and the organisers will accept entries for individual entries only.

Please note the if you reqire a a one day licence to compete this must applied for in advance from Triathlon Ireland’s website www.triathlonireland.com, unfortunatly licenses will not issues on the day of the race .Athletes will not be allowed to race unless they have this licence or alternatively that they are a Triathlon Ireland member.
