Cavan Biggio

LAD Second Baseman #8

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Dodgers acquired INF/OF Cavan Biggio from the Blue Jays for minor league reliever Braydon Fisher.

The 29-year-old Biggio was waived by Toronto last week after hitting .200/.323/.291 with two home runs in 131 plate appearances in 2024. It was a disappointing start to the season after Biggio seemed to unlock something in the second half of last season when he hit .272/.404/.361 in 52 games. Over the last two seasons, Biggio has played every position in the field other than pitcher and catcher, so the Dodgers clearly see some value in his ability to move on all over and post near 80 percent contact rates. We’ll see if they can get a new level of production out of him, but he should remain on fantasy waiver wires for now.
Jordan Lawlar

ARI Shortstop #10

Diamondbacks SS prospect Jordan Lawlar went 3-for-6 with a solo homer and three RBI on Tuesday in his season debut for Triple-A Reno.

Welcome back, Jordan. The 21-year-old top prospect, who made a late-season cameo last year with the Diamondbacks, is finally healthy after undergoing thumb surgery back in late March and looked impressive in his Triple-A debut following a handful of contests in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He’s one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire fantasy landscape and remains a top-15 overall prospect for dynasty league purposes. There’s a chance he’s back in Arizona at some point this summer.
Randal Grichuk

ARI Center Fielder #15

Randal Grichuk came up a single shy of a cycle Tuesday as the Diamondbacks defeated the Angels 9-4.

Grichuk got through the hard part in his first three at-bats, leaving him with two chances to complete the cycle. Alas, he walked in the sixth and then flew out to the warning track in left in the seventh. The big game upped Grichuk’s line to .316/.367/.480 in 109 plate appearances. Still, the Diamondbacks have very rarely used him versus righties, even with Alek Thomas out for months. The Diamondbacks are about to face five righties in a row now, so we’ll see if that changes at all.
Corbin Carroll

ARI Center Fielder #7

Corbin Carroll went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and a walk versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Carroll has nine hits, four walks and zero strikeouts in his last five games, boosting his OBP from .278 to .300. He’s still a long way from where he needs to be, but things are getting better.
Shohei Ohtani

LAD Designated Hitter #17

Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer, walked twice, stole a base and scored three times Tuesday in the rout of the Rangers.

Ohtani is the first player to reach 15 homers (actually 16) and 15 steals this year. In fact, no one else has at least 12 of each. Only Elly De La Cruz, with 11 homers and 34 steals, tops Ohtani in the two categories combined.
Taylor Ward

LAA Right Fielder #3

Taylor Ward left Tuesday’s game for precautionary purposes due to lower back tightness.

Ward was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the rout after homering, doubling and walking in three plate appearances. He’s day-to-day. If he can’t play Wednesday, then Kevin Pillar figures to get a start against a right-hander.
Drew Thorpe

CWS Starting Pitcher #96

Drew Thorpe went without a decision in his major league debut after allowing two runs — one earned — and three hits in five innings against the Mariners.

He struck out four. Errors from Nicky Lopez and Lenyn Sosa added to Thorpe’s pitch count and probably shortened his outing by an inning tonight. He still left with a 3-2 lead, but the bullpen couldn’t make that hold up. This is pretty much what we’d expect from Thorpe going forward; he’ll be pretty good, but perhaps not good enough to make up for the awful team supporting him.
Jurickson Profar

SD Left Fielder #10

Padres manager Mike Shildt told reporters Jurickson Profar was removed from Tuesday’s game due to left knee soreness that he’s been dealing with for a while.

The Padres are calling him day-to-day for now. That Profar’s left knee buckled on a swing is rather scary, and we’re certainly more concerned about this than the typical “day-to-day” injury. David Peralta could get some extra at-bats in his place if he needs to miss some time. There should be some additional clarity on his status in the coming days.
Yusei Kikuchi

TOR Starting Pitcher #16

Yusei Kikuchi struck out five over five shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Brewers.

Kikuchi also walked four batters and needed 97 pitches to get through his five frames, but he kept the Brewers off the board, and has now allowed one earned run in his last 11 innings of work. Despite a 4-5 record, Kikuchi is now sitting on a 3.26 ERA and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but three of his starts. He’ll look to pick up his fifth win on Monday against the Red Sox.
Tanner Scott

MIA Relief Pitcher #66

Tanner Scott pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three to secure his eighth save in a 4-2 win over the Mets on Tuesday.

Scott was brought in to face the heart of the Mets order in the eighth inning and then stayed in to close out the game after the Marlins gave him an extra run of cushion in the top of the ninth. The left-hander has now walked six batters and struck out eighteen in 15 innings since the start of May. That hasn’t led to many saves with Miami not producing many wins, but Scott has seemed to put his early season control issues behind him. For now.
