June 22 & 23, 10:00am-3:00pm: Revolutionary War Encampment Reenactment with Warner’s Regiment, a Revolutionary War reenactment group. Militia & artisan demonstrations & more! Included with admission.

June 23, 10:00am-4:00pm: ETHAN ALLEN DAY (Vermont State Holiday). Free admission for Vermont residents (must show ID). Includes access to the reenactment event this day.

July 20, 10:00am-3:00pm: Home & Hearth Reenactment. Learn about everyday living in the 1780s on the Vermont frontier from an experienced reenactor! Included with admission.

July 21, 2:00-3:00pm: Free Monthly Lecture. “Substance Abuse and Abortion: Surviving Health Challenges in 19th Century Vermont” by Gary Shattuck, local author, researcher, & historian

July 27 & 28, 10am-4pm: Fanny Allen Penniman Weekend! Join us for festivities as we celebrate the world’s premiere of our new documentary project, Frontier & Flowers: The Story of Frances Montresor Brush Buchanan Allen Penniman. Family friendly! Free with admission.

August 11, 3:00-4:00pm: Homestead Book Club. John Adams Under Fire: The Founding Father’s Fight for Justice in the Boston Massacre Murder Trial by Dan Abrams & David Fisher. Casual conversation over tea and cookies. Free.

August 17, 10:00am-3:00pm: Home & Hearth Reenactment. Learn about everyday living in the 1780s on the Vermont frontier from an experienced reenactor! Included with admission.

August 18, 2:00-3:00pm: Free Monthly Lecture. “Vermont Milk Chocolate Co. Factory: Hopes, Setbacks & Perseverance” by Dr. Thomas Durant Visser, professor of history at the University of Vermont.

August 24, 11:00am-12:30pm: The Flax Harvest. Learn all about our Homestead-grown flax crop and help with the harvest! Included with admission. Location: Fanny’s Garden.

September 14, 11:00am-12:30pm: Processing Flax. Learn all about our Homestead-grown flax crop and how 18th-century people processed it into linen thread. Included with admission. Location: Fanny’s Garden.

September 21, 4:00-6:00pm: Volunteer Appreciation BBQ. We love our volunteers! Location: Back Porch

October 19, 10:00am-3:00pm: Flaxtravaganza! Learn all about the flax harvest from experienced reenactors. Learn how to turn flax into linen cloth. Location: Fanny’s Garden.

November 17, 2:00-3:00pm: Free Monthly Lecture. “The Homestead as a Park: Environmental History & the Importance of Floodplains” by Lauren Chicote, Operations Manager, Winooski Valley Park District
