ThePresidential Physical Training Challenge is a comprehensive school-based program that promotes health and regular physical activityfor students between the ages of 6 and 17. In 1956 President Dwight D. Eisenhower created the Presidential Fitness Challenge in response to concerns about the physical fitness of American youth as a study in 1955 revealed that nearly 58% of American youth failed at least one of the six mobility tests administered. Eisenhower’s goal was to address this issue and improve the overall fitness of American youth.
The Gerstell Academy musicians excelled at the Music in the Parks Festival at Hershey Park, with the band and string ensemble both earning first place and the choir securing second place during the competitions. After enjoying Hershey Park, they were awarded the prestigious Esprit De Corps award for their exemplary behavior and support for each other, highlighting their integrity and character throughout the event.
