Historic Vacation Rentals in New England

The Landmark Trust USA is a nonprofit organization that preserves historic properties and makes them available as short-term vacation rentals. Our five Vermont properties represent a variety of architectural styles from 1802 to 1915. Each property is distinctive and fully restored to highlight its historic character. Our best-known property is Rudyard Kipling’s Naulakha, the famed southern Vermont retreat where Kipling wrote The Jungle Book.

Our Mission

The Landmark Trust USA preserves and restores historic properties through creative and sustainable uses for public enjoyment, education and inspiration. Our unique stewardship model protects historic properties for future generations.

All of our vacation rentals are fully furnished, with well-equipped kitchens, bed and bath linens, and Wi-Fi. Our properties are self-catered whole-house rentals with accommodations for 2 to 8 people. Between every stay, we use heightened cleaning and hygiene protocols recommended by the CDC.

Four of our properties are adjacent to the historic Scott Farm, which features 130 varieties of ecologically grown heirloom apples in season.
